Friday

Friday was our last day of service work. Saturday was spent doing a little bit of tourism with the Antolecs as we rode elephants!

(Long boat ride TO the elephant camp)

(I don't think we need a title here!)

Back to Friday...we climbed into a truck where a couple of us braved the back of it and drove close to 2 hours to a school in the mountains.....What are we talking about; it was a blast!

When we finally got to the school, a portion of it was covered in fog and it was the coolest it had been all week in Thailand (probably because of how high we were and it was a 'cooler' day).

(some fog on our way up to the school)

At the elementary school all the students were gathered into a room where we were introduced and led them and taught them the song "If You're Happy and You Know It." The children were divided into 4 groups: 1) games 2)face painting and puzzles 3) English and bracelet making and 4) making balloons and snacks. It was a little crazy and kids were not staying in the groups, but I think it is safe to say we had fun and so did the kids.

It was a great time and we were thankful to work with such a wonderful school! The staff brought us to a noodle place nearby where we probably had some of the best soup of our lives. We got to hang out with the kids and staff a little afterwards too, playing and taking pictures.

On the way back we stopped for a quick view of Chiang Rai as well as a coffee plantation.

(Our wonderful trip leaders!)

Friday evening was our send-off goodbye from S2S. It was a wonderful evening of Christian fellowship, good food and surprise gifts.

What an amazing group of people to spend our time in Thailand with....none of us would have had it any other way. They were each such a blessing to our team.

Saying good bye it never easy....so we will just say see ya later! (The following day most of our team left for Bangkok.)
 It is incredible to see what God is doing in and through the people in Thailand. We were each blessed by the people we worked for and alongside. God is doing amazing things in Thailand. This is a country that is only 0.06% Christian. This is a country that has temple after temple and buddha after buddha all over the land.
We challenge you to ask God what your part is in Thailand. Is God calling you to pray? Pray! Is God calling you to give? Give! Is God calling you to go? By all means, go!

Psalm 115:4-11
Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
They have ears, but do not hear;
  noses, but do not smell.
They have hands, but do not feel;
 feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
Those who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them.

O Israel, trust in the Lord!

    He is their help and their shield.

O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord!
    He is their help and their shield.

You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord!
    He is their help and their shield.

Love in Christ,
